We think the translation “Sweet Flour Sauce” can be lesser misleading than “Sweet Bean Sauce” with its main ingredient. It has a sweet and salty flavor with soy sauce and ester flavor at the same time and suitable for cooking the dish type of soy sauce frying and soy sauce cooking , such as “Meat Cubes In Sauce”, and can also be dipped into dishes such as scallion, cucumber and roast duck(likes Beijing Roast Duck).

How To Make Homemade Sweet Flour Sauce
Step 1: Add Main ingredients.
Firstly, add 300 ml water into the bowl, then add 1 and 1/2 tablespoons light soy sauce, 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce, 1 tablespoon oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon sugar, 3 tablespoons flour into the bowl. If you like more saline taste, you can add some salt into the bowl on the basis of your taste.
Step 2: Make Sauce
Pour the mixture into the pan. Then start to heat the pan with the soft fire. Cook and stir it without stop. After about 5 minutes, we will see the sauce thick enough that means the sauce done. You can compare the condition with us in the video to judge if it is thick enough.
Pour the sauce into the container. We should stir it a few times because the skin of the sauce will become dry. After it was cold enough, seal it to store in the refrigerator.
Step 3: How To Use Sauce
Firstly, Prepare some finely minced cilantro and green onion, save them for later.Adding the noodles into the boiled water to cook. When it becomes well-cooked, drain and place it on the plate.

Tips About Making This Sauce
- Make sure the sauce is mixing enough so that it doesn’t lump when you put it in the pan.
- Use the soft fire no bigger fire, we should stir quickly to make them not clump.
- If you don’t have enough color you can add a little bit more dark soy sauce and make sure you add it after you taste the sauce.
- When the sauce cools, it will become thicker than it was in the hot pan. We should stir it few times again to make them to full uniform heating.

Recipe is a tad bit confusing, at least for me. The directions above call for measurements, I assume 4 tablespoons soy sauce, 5 tablespoons sugar and a total of 4 tablespoons oil. Where does the 4 tablespoons flour come in if you are using 200 g of flour in the recipe in the box?
