Snow sallow (Chinese name is 雪燕 Xueyan) is not the edible bird’s nest (Chinese name is 燕窝 Yanwo) in the traditional sense. It is the trade name for the natural gelatinous secretions of the genus Pear, similar in properties to peach gum, mainly produced in tropical and subtropical regions.

It has many benefits to our bodies. From the nutritional point of view, Snow sallow is composed of polysaccharides and other substances. Water-insoluble macromolecular polysaccharides can absorb a large number of water molecules to form a gel.
