How To Make Chinese Cold Jellyfish Salad Recipe

Step 1: Prepare Jellyfish

Firstly, we should prepare 500g jellyfish heads for this recipe. Shred jellyfish head. Then put them into the pot. Then add enough water into the pot to immerse them for 5 hours. We should change the water twice and wash it thoroughly. Then drain and save them for later.

We use the salted jellyfish head for this recipe. That’s why we should immerse them to remove the deep salt taste. We also can immerse them a day in advance that we can adjust the salt taste later. It is very good to immerse them to be not salt taste. But if you can buy the fresh jellyfish, you don’t need to do that.

Maybe most of you have heard that we can use the hot water to scald jellyfish quickly which can help it to be more tender. But it will easily cause the jellyfish to shrink. So we don’t recommend you to do that.

Step 2: Prepare Ingredients

Next, we should prepare ingredients. Cut 1 bunch of green onion. Then save them for later. Finely mince 3 cloves of garlic. Then save them for later. Cut 2 red peppers into dice. Then save them for later.

Step 3: Fry Sesame Seeds

Next, we should prepare 10g white sesame seeds for this recipe. Add white sesame seeds, 2 tablespoons of water into the pan. Use middle fire to heat them. Stir fry them evenly. After the sesame seeds started to be broken, drain and save them for later. The fried sesame seeds can take more flavor to the jellyfish when we eat them.

Now we can start to make cold jellyfish salad. Add jellyfish into the pot. Then add garlic, red peppers, some sesame seeds, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, 1 teaspoon light soy sauce, 1/2 tablespoon aromatic vinegar, 1/4 teaspoon sugar, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon chili oil into the pot. Stir them evenly. Then sprinkle with some green onions. Stir them evenly.
