Cassia, the name of Chinese medicine. It is the dry and mature seed of leguminous cassia or small cassia. It is named for its merits of eyesight. In autumn, ripe fruits are harvested, dried, and seeds are laid to remove impurities. Cassia seed tastes bitter, sweet, salty, slightly cold in nature, enters the liver, kidney, and large intestine; relaxes the bowel, reduces fat, and improves eyesight. It treats constipation, hyperlipidemia, and hypertension. Liver clearing eyesight, benefiting water and laxative, have laxative effect, lower blood pressure and blood fat.
