Old-fashioned bread was invented when bread was just emerging. Although there are so many different kinds of bread today, old-fashioned bread has not been eliminated from the society. Simplicity and happiness are the best taste in many people’s memory.
How to make the bread (old-fashioned bread)
Mix the raw material of leaven head evenly, put at room temperature and send to expand, then fall back, the inside is honeycomb shape.
Knead the good leaven into a ball with all the ingredients of the main dough except butter.
Knead until smooth and add softened butter. Continue kneading until gluten has expanded. Fold into plate.
In the warm place, the dough should be raised to twice the size. The dough should be divided into 8 equal parts without slackening.
Roll the dough into long strips of less than 1 meter.
Join the two ends of the dough together, hold the fold in place with your left hand, and twist the dough inwards with your right hand for about 2 times, pushing the head into the circle.
When all is done, place on a greased baking sheet.
Place in a warm, moist place and let rise for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven and bake at 180℃ for 25 minutes.
Brush with melted butter immediately from the oven.
- I use a PE5386-degree shuttle oven. Please pay attention to the appropriate temperature adjustment when using ovens of other brands.
- The dough is relatively wet. When it sticks to the hands, sprinkle some flour appropriately to prevent it from sticking.
- When baking, color the surface to your liking to prevent it from burning.
